The video for My
World was one of the toughest things I've ever had to do
as an
independent. And that goes double for my brother Randy,
who is the director, editor and pretty much everything else for this
video. I'm absolutely blown away by what great a job he
did, but at times I thought we had bitten off more than we could chew.
Probably the most
challenging part, was the fact that we did everything ourselves --
everything. From
lighting to creating a green screen to driving around downtown Toronto
filming, this is a
completely
independent
project.
But the
real work was done by Randy in editing. All
of those moving boxes and composites took a HUGE amount of time. Plenty
of all-nighters. And for
those techies out there, this was done on a G4 400. And that's not a
typo. I
now know what the blue bar of death is.
Ron
(percussion) and Stephen
(bass) also did a great job in the video -- it sure wasn't easy playing
in front of 5000 watts of light balanced on a two by four
foot dolly in front of a green screen was it guys?
Still,
even though it was a heck of a lot of work,
we want to do another video. We have the bug. Now we just need the
money!
